A. Introduction
===============
This is the R9.1 M2 product release, the second maintenance release of 9.1 driver.
It has been put through our full system tests and is suitable for deployment to end-users.
DisplayLink software release 9.1 delivers:
- Display layout provisioning for hotdesking/hoteling offices to allow
IT-defined first-connect display relative positions. Details in:

- Windows 10 postponed installation: when pushing the MSI to users, driver
will be updated straight away if no DisplayLink product is detected, or
at the next machine reboot if a device is detected.

- Bug fixes
This release is for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 v1607 and later.
The DL-3xxx, DL-4xxx (where applicable) and DL-5xxx plus the
associated software, is tested to meet the following compliances at the time
of release:
- USB 2.0
- DisplayPort (source 1.2)
- DisplayPort ++
- HDCP 1.x over DP
- HDCP 1.x over HDMI
- HDCP 1.x over DVI
- HDMI (source 1.4)
The DL-6xxx plus the associated software, is tested to meet the following
compliances at the time of release:
- USB 2.0
- USB 3.2
- DisplayPort (source 1.2)
- DisplayPort ++
- HDCP 1.x over DP
- HDCP 1.x over HDMI
- HDMI (source 1.4 and 2.0)

- Hot-desking package: multiple reliability improvements in assigning first

- Hot-desking package improvement: apply extend left by default if using the
package with non-configured docking stations/adapters (29609)

- Abnormal HDMI video on 2560x1440@75 mode for specific monitor when
connected through PS176 converter. (29523)
- DL-6000 series: if 2 DisplayPort + 1 HDMI displays are connected to the
chip and HDMI is removed during sleep, the matching DisplayPort output
doesn't light up at sleep recovery. (29625)
- Improvement: change audio output to laptop internal when DisplayLink
video output is disabled. (29434)

- Windows 10 Threshold message was updated to suggest download of older

- DL-3000/DL-5000 series, audio source did not switch to internal audio

I. Known Issues and Limitations
===============================
System behaviour with DisplayLink attached screens has been well tested.
Testing covers plug/unplug, mode changes, playing video, hibernate,
sleep/standby, multiple users, different user rights, attached screen as
primary screen, attached screen as only screen, and other aspects.
- When upgrading from R8.1, disconnecting and re-plugging the USB of the
product using DisplayLink technology is necessary (25057, 25075)
- Windows 7 requires Microsoft KB3033929 or later installed to validate
SHA-256 driver signature hashing. SHA1 has been deprecated (23965)
- Devices with mass storage or auto-install are not supported by Windows
10 Anniversary Update UMDF USB driver DisplayLink uses (21959)
- Windows 10 Anniversary Update sets the wrong preferred mode 9124025
